Our Christian Nation

Here are some quotes I find interesting:

"[the government] will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life."

"Republicans want the best for our nation and so do Democrats. Our votes may differ, but not our hopes. Americans want reconciliation and unity."

"I was praying for strength to do the Lord's will. ... I'm surely not going to justify war based upon God. Understand that. Nevertheless, in my case, I pray that I be as good a messenger of His will as possible."

"I ask all Americans to join together in cities, communities, neighborhoods, and places of worship to honor those who were lost, to pray for those who grieve, and to give thanks for God's enduring blessings on our land."

"As we confront the challenges before us, I ask you to join me during these Days of Prayer and Remembrance in praying for God's continued protection and for the strength to overcome great evil with even greater good."

Clearly, our President is a man of faith. His belief in the nation's Christian roots is very strong. So what's wrong with this picture?

Answer:
One of the quotes is not like the others. Not because its sentiment or intent is any different, but because it was not George W. Bush who said it.

Which one?
"The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life."
- Adolph Hitler

So much for the claim that dictators are godless, and atrocities are not committed by Christian nations.
